Good day martians,
Some of you may know we had a little mishap with the R850r to start the new year. The ditch made out with just a couple new troughs but the bike left the scene on a trailer with a bent left handle bar. I’ve fixed the handle bar, fairing, and controls. The mirror is a lost cause but I’ll figure that out shortly. The problem that has me concerned is a wobble of the steering head at the top brace even though the bolt has been torqued to the specified 96 ft/lb. I do not see any damage to the bearings or top brace but why the slight (very slight) movement when pushing down on the bars? Possible it was there pre-ploughing of the ditch? All other suspension and frame seem ok.
Thoughts?
